Navydads Political Talk Rules and Guidelines

1. Whether Republican or Democrat we are all on the same team - The Navy's
2. Name calling or threats to any member because of their political stance will not be tolerated
3. Respect each others political views and debate them in a civil manner
4. Only a healthy debate will be allowed on this site
5. With the rules in place please feel free to join in on the debate

John and Luis have set a wonderful example of how we should debate things in a civil manner. I just want to be up front with everyone who participates in this discussion that I will not let this get out of hand. I want to warn everyone that this site is here to benefit us with our children's journey through the Navy not to slam each others political beliefs.

That being said I do understand that the next commander in chief will be relevant to us Navy parents. I encourage healthy debates when it comes to politics. It's what makes this country so great. We can have our own beliefs and we get to vote for whom we want in office. All I ask is for everyone to debate in a healthy manner not in a negative manner. Express your views and let others express theirs. I do not want this to be a negative response to this candidate or a negative response to that candidate. We all know that political talks can quickly become shouting matches and this is not the site for it.

Whichever candidate wins this election will be the one that we need to stand behind and support because this person will be our children's commander in chief. In the military it doesn't come down to whether you are a Republican or Democrat. In a time of war it comes down to protect your brothers in arms no matter what branch of military they are in or what their political, religious beliefs are. Navy, Marines, Airforce, Army and Coast Guard when it comes down to it will fight side by side to defend this great country's freedoms no matter where they come from.

Sincerely, Navydads Creator

Check the tape for Keith Olberman tonight on MSNBC. He referred to the Tea Partiers as the Dumb Manipulative Bastards. He also referred to Sarah Palin as a Tool. He made derogatory comments about the Evangelicals. No wonder that nobody watches his program.

Factcheck.com verified the program was real, but the quotes were fabrications and intended as satire. Obama did in fact abandon the idea after catching hell about it.

I received this from my veteran's motorcycle group tonight. Very interesting, if true.

THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS STATEMENT EVER MADE BY A PUBLIC OFFICIAL LET ALONE BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. AND THIS GUY IS OUR "COMMANDER IN CHIEF".. HE IS A DISGRACE.

UNBELIEVABLE PRESIDENT???
HERE IS HIS RESPONSE WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS DECISION TO REQUIRE THE MILITARY PAY FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES.

WHAT AN EMPTY HEADED PERSON HE MUST BE....

Bad press, including major mockery of the plan by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540
million annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty. The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.

"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to
sacrifice for their country, "Obama continued "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit. I guess I underestimated the
selfishness of some of my fellow Americans."

Please pass this on to every one including every vet and their families whom you know. How in the world did a person with this mindset become our leader? I didn't vote for him!!!

REMEMBER THIS STATEMENT.... "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice?"

If he thinks he will ever get another vote from an Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard service member or veteran of a military service he ought to think it over.. If you or a family member is or has served
their country please pass this to them.

Please pass this to everyone.
I'm guessing that other than the 20-25 percent hardcore liberals in the US will agree that this is just another example why this is the worst president in American history. Remind everyone over and over how this man thinks, while he bows to the Saudi Arabian king.

Elite liberals like Joe Scarborough? From watching him before work most mornings, it seems that he is the true small government conservative that most people around here seem to want in office.

I have real problems with Rush, because I believe Rush has problems with the truth. As an example, he told his audience not to go to whitehouse.gov to donate to Haitian relief because the money would disappear. I actually checked this, and it turns out there is no direct contribution button, rather links to the Bush-Clinton foundation, info on some of the ways to text contributions, and links to state department folk responsible for helping you find people in Haiti, something Haitian immigrant families and families of aid workers, missionaries and the like would appreciate. He's not even a particular clever liar.

And to some degree I agree with you about the mockery of Sarah Palin. I don't think someone who has a shaky grasp of why there are two Koreas is qualified to be President, but she seems a decent person with a nice family. I hope that everyone here has the same level of distaste for Rush's mockery of Michael J. Fox's Parkinson's disease.

The beautiful thing about this country is that we can agree to disagree, so I will start on my first post in this fashion. Those who watch MSNBC can watch the elitist liberals as this is America. However, when you check the ratings, thank God that most Americans watch Fox News and receive, at the least, a conservative slant. The news-people at MSNBC do everything that they can to tear down traditional American values. Where did these people come from? They are not Americans that care about good to honest hard working people. They make fun of Sarah Palin who literally scares them because she is intelligent, a mother, a devoted wife, and can clean fish. I do agree that Rush can be a little out there, but his heart is in the right place. The recent election was the greatest thing to happen to this country in the last year. Now maybe we can all work together.

What? Another MSNBC watcher? Scarborough, Maddow or both? Those are the two I like; Matthews and Olbermann are too much in love with themselves. Not Rush sized egos, but darned close.
