Navydads Political Talk Rules and Guidelines

1. Whether Republican or Democrat we are all on the same team - The Navy's
2. Name calling or threats to any member because of their political stance will not be tolerated
3. Respect each others political views and debate them in a civil manner
4. Only a healthy debate will be allowed on this site
5. With the rules in place please feel free to join in on the debate

John and Luis have set a wonderful example of how we should debate things in a civil manner. I just want to be up front with everyone who participates in this discussion that I will not let this get out of hand. I want to warn everyone that this site is here to benefit us with our children's journey through the Navy not to slam each others political beliefs.

That being said I do understand that the next commander in chief will be relevant to us Navy parents. I encourage healthy debates when it comes to politics. It's what makes this country so great. We can have our own beliefs and we get to vote for whom we want in office. All I ask is for everyone to debate in a healthy manner not in a negative manner. Express your views and let others express theirs. I do not want this to be a negative response to this candidate or a negative response to that candidate. We all know that political talks can quickly become shouting matches and this is not the site for it.

Whichever candidate wins this election will be the one that we need to stand behind and support because this person will be our children's commander in chief. In the military it doesn't come down to whether you are a Republican or Democrat. In a time of war it comes down to protect your brothers in arms no matter what branch of military they are in or what their political, religious beliefs are. Navy, Marines, Airforce, Army and Coast Guard when it comes down to it will fight side by side to defend this great country's freedoms no matter where they come from.

Sincerely, Navydads Creator

Thank god American Muslims aren't like these mullahs! FWIW, I've been following Andrew Sullivan's coverage of this story, which is far superior to MSM's, or as the left would call it, the SCLM's. Upshot is, the unrest has spread to several cities in Iran.

Bad news is, nukes seem to be a point of pride with all Iranians, even the dissidents and reformers. Since they have Israel, Russia, and Pakistan all in range, I'm inclined to understand if not approve.

A window into the world of American Muslims
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/12/25/AR2...

"I'm really concerned about what the Internet is doing to my young people," said Mohamed Magid, imam at the All Dulles Area Muslim Society in Sterling. "I used to not be worried about the radicalism of our youth. But now, after this, I'm worried more."

Since Sept. 11, 2001, as American Muslims have seen repeated arrests of young European Muslims on terrorism charges, many in this country came to believe that the stronger integration of young American Muslims in the United States would help immunize them against the disaffection that leads to extremism. Magid said he has met in recent years with other Muslim leaders to talk about social networking to counter radicalism in Europe, "but we never thought about it for here."

Now, Magid said, "I have to be a virtual imam," meaning that Muslim groups need a larger and more effective online presence. Referring to extremists, he said: "Twenty-four hours, they're available. I want to be able to respond to that."

when I hear about Nebraska getting such a sweetheart deal to buy a Senate healthcare bill vote I know which country I want back....and maybe a little redneck wouldn' be such a bad thing...

Newt Gingrich? Seriously?

Last time impeaching judges was in vogue, it was to impeach Earl Warren in response to Brown v. Board of Education. And now "Muslim" is being used as "n**g*r" used to be. Yes, 99% of the threat is from Muslims. But 99% of Muslims, particularly American Muslims, are not terrorists. I suggest choosing which country you take back wisely.

Jerry.. I have to agree with the freshmen in both the house and the senate, but one of the things I think we should do is demand that before they can take office they read and understand the Constitution of these United States. If they don't comprehend then we get someone who can !!!!! That document,to me is what this country was built on(besides the blood, sweat and tears)of our forefathers. O.K. time to climb on down from my high horse{:-)

Rex,yes we area little older and maybe a bit wiser and yes I want our republic back. For my kids and grandkids i want them to have a country to be as proud of as I have in my lifetime. We may still be the best country in the world, but if things don't change real soon we could be no better off than a third rate country, and that is where I am gonna have a very real problem.
I am not an arrogant person, but I have an attitude that I refuse to let people walk on my tired a_al orifice..... That would be the point where we would see if my kin and the U.S Army did their job in learning me right !!!!!!!
NO MORE FREE RIDES!!!!!!!!!!
Well you all have a great evening !!!!

I agree with you Steve its the SOS with both parties so far. If some how there were new blood that could come out in new platforms from either party.
If there was such a think as an honest person or persons running come next election i could vote for either party., depending that i agreed on the platform. Fat chance of that ?
Jerry makes a good point too, it may be time to give the rookies a chance .
I think most of of here still love country and want what is best for it . Some of us maybe a little more because our kids are doing the right thing in service to our country, just like some of the moms and dads have done!

At the end of my day, we may be a little older and wiser to know that our family wants our republic back .It may not be perfect, but so far its the BEST in the world ! I can still shoot pretty straight cant see as far but with a little help from a scope any thing is possible.
Steve both of us may be spitting in the wind but who knows it may be just the ticket we need !

@Steve, Love that video. I'm for voting all of them out. Better 435 rookies that know the rules than 400 who know how to bend and break them.

Paul,to my way of thinking it is time to take back control from the government for the people, but as you have probably noticed whether you have a liberal or a conservative in office the same old garbage seem to go on,and on,and on.

I am thinking about changing parties and my direction of thinking.I have been looking at what the Libertarian party has to offer in the way of a platform.I may be spitting into the wind, yet I for one am about to the end of my rope with what is out there to chose from between Republicans and Dems.Seems like it is just the same old B.S in a different wrapper!
