Navy Dads

Certainly, this prayer request pales in comparison to those prayer requests for Sailors who are in harm's way and I apologize....I am not sure what God's plan is right now for my son, we thought we did everything properly and he is working hard to return to training....

My son was moved to Ship 5 on 31 July 2014 after arrival beginning boot camp 22/23 July 2014 when a subsequent review of paperwork suggested waivers were not in order.  He fully disclosed at all stages of application for enlistment and he was advised waivers were granted.  Navy doctor deemed my son fit for duty; RTC personnel sent my son to Ship 5. I have been in contact with Legal and a review is underway....  Received an email from him late this afternoon (2Aug2014)

Praying for his return to training, but most importantly praying to accept God's will....and for the safe and well being of all of the Recruits and Sailors.  Thank you.

I will pray for your son. Can I ask for his first name only.?

Thanks

Seeking the Lords will is a good thing, but it can be a day to day thing.

Like the the Lords prayer, give us" this day" our daily bread.

Thank you, Mike.  Same first name - Michael.

I will also pray for Mike.  As Mike Baumgartner just said: "Seeking the Lord's will is always a good thing."  I think you are on the right track to accept His plan.

Also, if it's any comfort I have two son's in the military and these "paperwork" problems seem to be fairly common.  They have both been in for about 2 years and have been sorely disappointed at decisions made only to find out later that there was an error in the paperwork.   It seems it can be a bit of a roller coaster ride. Just rely on your faith.

Thank you, Tom.

A prayer of thanks..........Thank you to each of you who viewed and or sent your prayerful comments.....Today, August 26, 2014, Michael called home to report he has been granted a waiver and is returning to training.   We are thankful that Michael has been granted an opportunity to resume training as we move forward in accordance with God's will.....

Giving thanks to God today (and my son, but.....) for the positive phone call at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2014.....more news pleasant on the ears......Thanking God for being with my son as he passed his PFO and his swim test in the four days since he was granted the opportunity to return to Basic from Ship 5.  Thanking God and my son for the grace, blessings, and hard work required for successful completion of standards associated with Basic Training.

Please pardon the ramblings.....this is my second of four sons.....he has always had to work the hardest to succeed.....I am proud of him; I am thankful to God and to my son.  Prayers to each of our daughters and sons as they continue their Navy service to our country.  Amen.  (Looking forward to Mass tomorrow morning.)

September 11, 2014 - Without losing sight of the solemness associated with today - September 11 - an anniversary filled with such heartache and loss - ; I am giving thanks to God for presenting my son with the opportunity to return to training and be included in photographs of Div 13 Ship 324 along with his shipmates.  Praying for all recruits' successful journey as they diligently work toward Week 5 and PIR.  ~ Pat

Giving thanks to God for guiding our family and son, who once was a SR and who is now a SAILOR!!  Thankful to God for His support and grace as we moved forward through the challenges associated with Michael's basic training paperwork journey.  Thankful to God for His guiding hand of support to Michael as he worked to meet all of the standards associated with successful completion of basic training.  Finally, I am very thankful to each of you for your prayers during this journey.  God Bless us all.

Beloved Father, guide Michael though his life's journey and grant him and all members of our military God's Grace, in Jesus Christ's name we pray.  Amen

Praying!
