Merry Christmas You All,
Our sailor didn't make it home for the 25th, but she comes home from Yokosuka on Tuesday. Only 9 days of leave, but Mom and I are high as kites. Special shout out and blessings for the Seventh Fleet Texans.
to John congratulations, God bless
The calls and letters will come. We've been pretty pleased hearing from our daughter. It took until the second Saturday for the first phone call. Make sure you have your phone available because their time is limited.
thanks guys for all the support. received the form letter today and got all the info I needed. always knew I would not hear from him for a while but wanted to make sure he was getting mail from home. when you go through boot camp you don't really think about that now I understand what my mom went through. keep in touch guys and thank you for the commitment your sons and daughters are making for this fine country we live in.
David- congrats. Also, don't worry, the phone will ring and the mail will periodically bring you letters and boxes of stuff.
I'd encourage you to sign up for the Boot Camp group here on Navy Dads. You will be amazed at a couple things: 1) that everyone whose kid is in bootcamp is going through the same thing and, 2) there are a ton of resources to help you over the next 2 months and for PIR. Also, look up your son's PIR date on Facebook as many graduating groups have Facebook pages. We were active on both ND & FB and it made our journey over the 2 months he was is much more enjoyable and it made the PIR trip so much more successful that it would have been if we just showed up. Plus we have new Navy parent friends as our sons head to A school then the fleet. My son passed PIR on 9/5 and is on the east cast for his IS A school as we speak.
NavyDads mission is to Provide Support, Encouragement, and Knowledge to Sailors and their Families throughout their Journey together in the United States Navy.
NavyDads can only succeed with your help. We receive no outside funding and every dollar you donate helps us cover operating costs and helps keep this site running.
