Just got back from Groton Sub Base! Went up last weekend to see my son. Very impressed and proud of our Navy. Got a real close up on the Virginia Class. Very humbled at what our sons will be taught and then on to getting their dolphins. My heart (Our Hearts) are with the soldier and his family & America will get her Son back!

Greeting Railspud,

Thanks for you comments. My family has roots in Newark, N.J. My son is training for Information tech there at Groton. I will meet him next week for a day or two before we go to Maryland for his sister's wedding. B.T.W., bring some Taylor's Pork Roll and I'll pay you for it when I get up there (!!??) Thanks to your son for serving.

Cordially, john in Georgia

Hello everyone! my son just called and he arrived Groton a few days ago. He was saying something about needing to get a Base Pass. Before we drive up to see him. I will be leaving Newark NJ this saturday. Anyone in the area let me know if you need anything taken to your family if applicable. Jim

I'm a Grand-Pa of a Sailor in Groton, i live in Southern GA near Kings Bay. At that point you are about 30-40 northof the Jacksonville Airport-JAX- a lot of airlines go in and out from there-Hank O'C

Hello everyone. I just heard from my son in Groton. He just passed thier final test in BMS and will be finishing this week. Next week starts ATT which I understand is 5-6 weeks. Not sure what that is. Then it's on to Kings Bay for his Missle Tech C school. That sounds like it a long school. Being as I am from Washington State, he's asking for his car when he gets to Kings Bay. Guess the best way is to drive it out there and fly back. It would be cool to be able to spend some time with him. I'm so very proud of my son and what he is doing. The Navy has been very good for him.

Hello, my son just graduated from Boot Camp and will be heading for Groton maybe around July 12th. What a tremendous challenge that must be, I'am so very proud of him. Thanks to you Jim Harper for this site. Jim

Greetings!

It has been awhile. Please help me find info on my son's future Rating, "Radioman". I looked it up on Wikipedia, and would like more info. Any good sources you could share with me? It seems he could be in any number of specific position, and I would like to know more. Thanks for any help in this regard.
