Hey guys I recently saw a link for Navy Sea Cadets and decided to check it out. back in 80 a friend of mine in San Diego wanted me to get involved and become an officer but at the time I couldn't so I've decided to look into it now, even if I can't be an officer they have positions for advisors. I enjoy working with kids and my son who is 14 has shown interest now that his brother is in the Navy. If anyone wants more info on Sea Cadets you can google it,

Hey Carl it's nice to know were not the only parents waiting for calls and addresses, we did indirectly hear from Andrew he myspaced his brother on saturday and said something about him getting on some website so I sent a message back that he needed to get in touch with us and get us his address, he replied he had not been told what his perminent address was yet so I'm wondering if maybe he's not in a temporary holding facility until he starts school, I know when I was in we would stay in holding barracks until we got our perminent rooms and it was sometimes difficult to get mail right away, but I'm pretty sure his fingers are not broken and he knows how to dial a phone. John I was at least able to track Andys bank account so at least I know he was out their cause he's spending money.

Dean, I'm in the same boat. My son graduated on 4/24. He didn't ship to Connecticut until 4/29. He called when he was at the airport and I've heard nothing since. I'm assuming that he arrived. Still waiting for an address so that we can get his phone to him.

Well its friday, 1 week from Andrews PIR and still no word from him no calls, no letters, no text, nothing, It does'nt bother me as much as my wife though she facebooked the girlfriend of Andrews friend Isaiah and asked her to tell Isaiah to give Andrew a swift kick in the butt and call his mom, and from our meeting of Isaiah I believe he'd do it.

it is hard for ME to be patient with my son when he is silent for so long. it took him i think two weeks or more before he sent us his new address. i left your son's last name with John in his email. so if he bumps into him, he might say "Hello!" Peace.

I think it's great John, hopefully your son will get to help work on some gear, it sure is better than cleaning crew or some non sub thing like working in the mess hall. So far we hav'nt heard from Andy yet, I suppose he's getting used too life on a navy facility and will call soon we can't even send him anything until he calls with his address.

Well, my son, John, has been assigned to a team that is working directly on submarine electronic components, right there at the Sub School Base. While waiting for his "A" School to begin, he will be able to gain knowledge towards earning his Qualifications , which will give him "points" towards earning his Dolphins. This is a great Blessing.

Humbly submitted, john sr.

Dean, I will tell my son your son's surname, ( that's all they go by, anyways...!) so he can share with him any insights he has gained. John received an award at the sub school graduation ceremony, and a lunch with some chiefs, etc. he said he was very nervous with all these big wigs . he also said the word is out that his group will start "A" school in five weeks. let's see.

stay in touch, john sr.
