My son graduated on 6/28 and one of the things he appreciated the most was stretching out on a clean hotel bed with a thick soft mattress and getting re-acquanted with his phone. He also appreciated being able to sit down in a chair. We took him out for some good sushi in Lake Forest, into Chicago for a boat tour and some excellent Malnati's pizza on N. Wells and to see The Bean sculpture on the water. He was pretty worn out from the last week and mostly liked just stretching out, relaxing and talking with us. We watched an old James Bond movie in the Navy Lodge Sat and he was so comfortable, as we made comments and jokes and laughed about the movie.

They go through a lot in eight weeks, and it changes them, and he appreciates the changes and knows that he's entering into a new family, but he also wanted to be able to enjoy the things he's done for us for so many years as part of our family.

Check urban spoon's ratings. I went to Chicago Cut steakhouse back in March 2012. Excellent service.

Driving to Chicago for PIR on 12 Jul, 2013.  Any suggestions for restaurants to take our Sailor to dinner after PIR?

If you get a chance, visit Buddy Guy's Legends in Chicago... If he is in town, he tends to make an appearance on stage. http://www.buddyguys.com/

lots of ideas in the old posts in this group......there is a lot to see and do in the area for sure...all depends what you are interested in. And Chicago has given us some of the great blues musicians for many years.....
