It appears that the TR will do a TC in Nov 2015. I am trying to get the dates to purchase one way plane tickets. After not seeing my son for 8 months this cruise should be epic! Please email me at mjphoto45 at yahoo if others are planning to attend so we can meet up.

Hi Mark...I am planning on riding the TR as well. Havn't nailed down the details at home and work yet but Im working on it. Looking forward to the ride if I can come. Will be different than the frigates and destroyer I rode in the 80's.
Dannelle, there really is no charge for the cruise, but you will pay for meals, any thing you may purchase from the on board commissary and of course air fare and hotel to meet up with the ship. However, you must have a sailor on board who is a child or close relative. Tiger Cruises are simply not something that's open to anyone.

How much is the tiger cruise and how long is the cruise
That fee is about $140 paid by your sailor. You have to pass a medical evaluation to get approved. Three general cruises: Mayport to Norfolk- about 2.5 days, Hawaii to San Diego...about 5 days and very rarely San Diego to Seattle. You have awhile to wait until you sailor returns from cruise.....and Tiger Cruises are NOT always offered.

So there is a fee. I missed that. Still learning.

actually that "fee" is the estimate of food costs for the cruise.....there is no fee for the cruise itself so you were correct.....

I just want to clarify Paul's comment. Your Sailor is responsible for making the payment to the appropriate person on board, but the Tigers give the money to their Sailor to make the payment. I know I did it that way anyway. I don't know of any Tigers that actually expected their Sailor to foot the bill out of their own pocket. Cash was appreciated on my trip.
