It's been a long time since I checked out this site, it was the weekend my son graduated boot camp in 2014. Soon it will be 5 years and he is an original crew member on the USS Gerald Ford. My wife and I attended the commissioning of the Ship and it was quite a ceremony. It was hot that day, but very impressive. I am very proud of my Son and the things he has accomplished. God Bless all the sailors aboard this great ship.
My son is coming home from A school at the end of this week. I'm taking 2 weeks vacation to spend time with him. His next duty is on the USS Gerald Ford. I'm proud of him and looking forward to being part of this community.
Commissioned! Throw off all lines, shift colors and let's get underway!
Am the proud (ex-Navy HMC) grandpa of a new FORD ABH. He's thrilled, as am I. Can not wait to see her in person. Go Navy!
