I need some help group.  Although my son has been getting our letters and packages, other family and friends keep getting their mail returned saying that they need the full zip code.  My son has turned off his phone for the month and I would like to get him some mail...  Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like a fantastic time!  Yes this is our sons first ship.  Before he was done with boot camp, he told me what ship it was and I did the research. What an honor it will be for him.

Hello Troy

It turns out my son was in NYC for the commissioning as was his mother and I.  He reported to the ship a few weeks before it left Bath Iron Works, they then went to Providence RI, then to Norfolk VA they then spent 8 days at sea before arriving in NY.  Talk about tears, there was a reception after the commissioning where I met Cmdr. Schultz and he said my son was a good sailor and a hard worker.  WOW, what a moment of pride.   Is the your sons first ship?

My son is coming home for a few weeks before shipping out to Hawaii...  Will be great to see him before his adventure begins!  My wife and I watched the commissioning of the USS Michael Murphy on the web.  Brought tears to our eyes!

My SA (PIR 7/13/12) called after BS21 and told me he would be stationed in Pearl Harbor on the Murphy. I'm wondering if he'll be in NYC for the 10/6/12 commissioning.
