@ Timothy, My 15 year old and I will be at the Best Western very close to the gates about 1.5 days early. I guess it would depend on where you stay. Some are staying close to the airport then shuttling in in the AM. I did not want the morning drive myself.
I talked to my son yesterday and got a few more details about the tiger cruise. As it turns out I'll be there a day early. If anyone would like to meet for dinner send me a personal message. I'm hoping to find a hotel close to the base.
Yeah, /me/ not sweating places to stay, there's plenty.
Booked flight a few weeks ago (no fee for change) and Amtrak from major hub to JAX (no fee for change on Amtrak either)
When we all arrive for the cruise on [redacted] at [redacted] if [redacted] arrives at the anticipated time of [redacted]
the only thing that worries me is getting to the gate of [redacted] and meeting my host who is a [redacted] and might not be able to meet me there.
But I understand that there will be shuttles to the []
I also understand that it will be in a season when the possibility of serious ultra-low pressure systems might make all our plans go [pfui]
Looking forward to that time and place.

search Google, there are tons of decent places close to the airport.....
My son is with VFA 2 we do not arrive until late eve two days prior. However, I have a "shuttle" taking us directly to in front of the gates at a hotel there. That way we do not have a long drive in the am. Search hotels either at the airport or the base location.

I'm planing on the Tiger cruise too. @ Dan W Thomason my son is in VFA 34 as well. I booked a flight but haven't got a room yet, any suggestions on where to stay?
