My sailor is returning soon. For the civilian parents, is any info being forwarded on how to get on base for the homecoming?

Friends and Families of America's Favorite Carrier,

This morning, we pulled into Fremantle/Perth, Australia! Wonderful, wild Australia. The crew has long anticipated and thoroughly deserves this cherished port call. It has been 17 years for me--looking forward to see how the city has grown.

...

We're excited to visit this country that is such a staunch ally. I know they are excited to have us visit. We had several dignitaries onboard yesterday and the amicable relationship was readily apparent. I know your Sailors will be embraced and they will truly get an opportunity to feel the warmth of the culture.

Off to enjoy some Australian camaraderie and friendship! I'm sure you will hear from your Sailor in the coming hours or days.

All the best!

Thanks Tom, actually you helped me with the ships facebook page last year if I recall correctly :)
It just seems like we had a good flow of pictures for a while there and lately they seem to have scaled back some.
I'm not complaining though. I'm sure they are busy.

Captain "T" certainly has a way with words :)

I agree with you Byron, the pics do seem to be far and few even in comparison to the beginning of this deployment. I thought maybe I was just being impatient.

Friends and Families of America's Favorite Carrier,

Today we dipped across the chaotic waters of the equator and paid homage to the Sovereign Ruler of the Raging Main, King Neptunus Rex and his official emissary Davey Jones. Davey paid us a visit last night informing us that we would need to heave to and rid ourselves of the slime of the seas, and I invited him to stay for a talent show so that he could pick a suitable offering for his Royal ...Highness, King Neptunus Rex. We had a slightly talented Pollywog, "Beat-Box Spongebob square-pants" that won the talent show and earned a spot on the royal court during today's proceedings.

When the day was over, we had rid our ship of the Pollywog infestation. All told, more than 2,900 Pollywog landlubbers had been taken into the realm of the deep and earned the title of Trusty Shellback. It was a wonderful tradition with many laughs and great camaraderie. The groups of Pollywogs provided much entertainment, and their Trusty Shellbacks ensured fun was had throughout the entire event.
