I'm sure jazzed about upcoming USS Carl Vinson TC.  Wondering how I make flight plans ahead when we don't know exact dates.  I'm probably not the first person to ask about this....you'all know?  thanks Navy Dads.

Thank you guys for those inspiring thoughts I will do by best to be on TC
my son really wants me to go aboard with him we have always been really close I wouldn't want to disappoint him
the only navy ship I have ever been on and it was eons ago was the USS constitution no I'm not that old! :) when I was a naval cadet as soon as I get word I will make final arrangements to make my way over to meet them! It will be tough since Ian an independent long haul truck driver and always on the east coast I hope I get enough notification to make this happen!
I will keep you all posted on my progress to make this happen!
Thanks again for all the great info

I envy you Julio. As much as I wanted to go on the Tiger Cruise, my son encouraged me to visit him during his leave instead (shortly after arrival). He said he wouldn't be in the best frame of mind to chill out with me, and would rather do a a week with me exploring San Diego or going on a road trip. So I'll take that one off my bucket list.
Please share your experiences with us when able.

Hi Jim / Paul
How have you been its a little over 4 years ago I joined navy dads when my son first went to Great Lakes and since I've been trying to stay uptodate reading emails on comments I spend most of my life on the road coast to coast and with all this great technology it's not too hard to stay disconnected unfortunately there is so much and so little time but as you guys mentioned back then it has finally come time to try and spend some time with my son on his first dep and my first tiger cruise I will do my best to make it aboard I've heard it's an experience of a life time and a memory never forgotten like boot camp pir and just wanted to take a moment while I can and thank you guys and everyone on this fantastic site for always sharing valuable info on questions any one has regarding navy life and upcoming events I will try and make it and share any my experience and helpful information for future tigers I've sent in my packet and have been approved to board now just need to get everything else scheduled I'm well aware of OpSec that was the first thing I learned from you guys and have not forgotten very important! Thanks again !!!
Ps: I've toured the Charlie Vinson prior to their departure so I'm at least im a little familiar with what to expect I hope :)
