Whom should I email to find out when the Ike will be in Norfolk? The dates posted previously state Mayport and Norfolk on July 3rd.

I thought that we are suppose to be using OPSEC with this stuff? I know that we are all anxious for our sailors to come home but come on people

Thanks for the update Steve!  My wife was sweating it about getting on to the base.  She will be on the pier when we pull in.

Just avoided a crisis.  I rented a car on line with Enterprise.   When I called to tell them my wife was picking it up, at first they said she could not.   Got it straightened out, but something some of you might want to verify.

C ya on the TC!!

Oh, just RUB IT IN, Steve!!! Wave while you man the rails ! Have a great time. Those of us pierside will be getting arm cramps holding our signs :)

Just wanted to confirm what Jeff said below. I spoke with the IKE Ombudsman. She said there are no passes needed. Just drive to the gate, tell them you are there for the IKE homecoming, tell them your sailor, show picture ID for all adults and registration for your car. That's it!

Me? I'll be on the Tiger Cruise!! But I needed to get the rest of the family on base. Can't wait!

I really like Cap't Hitchcock.  Thank you John for the post.  It won't be long now until IKE is back...  I am SO looking forward to seeing my Sailor once again...

Can you drive on?

When a ship is leaving on deployment or a Homecoming go to the main gate with valid ID and you will be allowed on Base. It's an open base for these days
