Does anyone have a link to the video of IKE bidding farewell to the Enterprise a few months ago.  I can't seem to find it and I remember watching the video.  Thank you!

Amber,  Thanks for the pics.  I got to help my son load his things on the ship on Monday, but had to fly back to Texas before they left.

Paul, agreed, God's speed to all of our sailors on this cruise!

Dear IKE Family and Friends,

Today, I am truly inspired by the awesome commitment and dedication that I see aboard IKE as 4,500 heroes of this great ship once again answer the call to deploy overseas.  Temperatures in Norfolk were mild and the sun was out and warmed us.  The ship looked magnificent, the Sailors looked sharp and seaman like, pennants and flags snapped crisply in a steady wind, and the ship's whistle was deep and strong as we pulled away from the pier.  We couldn't have picked a better day to start another deployment!

Just as inspiring as our Sailors, the families and friends they leave on the pier this afternoon are also inspiring.  I've read most of the 300 Facebook posts relating to our departure announcement.  The notes are from moms, dads, husbands, wives, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and friends -  They are filled with blessings, thanks, wishes for safe journey, encouragement, hopes for a quick return, and promises of future prayers.  But mostly, they are filled with love and pride in their Sailor.  Thank you!  I recognize the sacrifice you make, as equal to ours and your support, is an absolute force multiplier.  We can not function at peak performance if you are not behind us and safe at home.  Keep the notes coming!

IKE is as ready to deploy as she's ever been.  The 5 Star Warriors are the best on any waterfront in the world.  The decision to send THIS ship and THIS crew was not casually made.  We will make you proud and we appreciate your support.  God bless and god speed.

Thank you and GREATER EACH DAY, IKE!

Captain Marcus Hitchcock
