We are traveling to meet our Son for the IKE homecoming but won't be there in time for the FRG meeting. I have the expected time for port and know the gate to get into. Is there anything we need to know as this is our first homecoming?

Found out that my son has Duty the day they pull in but I will still be there and he can have myself and my other son on the ship for dinner.  It's been a long time since I've had good Navy Chow.

ShaBar  That's really good to know.  I will remember that next year when they return again.  The change caused me to miss out this time, but I'm glad we get our sailors home early, just really bummed I won't be there.

Amber if you can stand a few children I am here! I'm in Virginia Beach, and also there are lots if openings in my complex! I refuse to live in Norfolk, but we are right on the interstate. Where does your husband work on the boat?

Early this week, I had to change the return flight for our son.   I worked with a terrific person at United.  I think it is common for at least the change fees to be waived when you mention the travel is for active duty military.

VERY disappointing.  $3,000 on airline tickets and I still won't be there for their arrival.  I can't go earlier and the tickets are non-refundable.  But this isn't about me, is it???

Someone should check the Ike FB, it just said they are porting two days earlier than announced!
