Ombudsman just mailed out the arrival time about 10 minutes ago.  Afraid to put it here because of the flack last week.

Thanks everyone.  This was his second one.  The first he got for an end of shore duty tour, but I think this one is a little special coming at the end of a deployment.  He has really stepped up and worked his butt off.

Welcome Alex! There is a storage facility run by the NEX on base (not sure if thats what you were talking about Todd) they store your car and start it up for you once a month, I believe it's $35/ month. You can call the insurance company and get a non-driving storage rate (reduced) to help defray costs while its there. I've heard of people renting storage units as well.

Hey Alex, welcome aboard!! Our daughter parked the car at our house while she was deployed, but we live about 8 hrs driving distance away. She had the same concerns. Ive heard others also rent storage rooms to keep cars in, but i would recommend if that is done, that he keeps you on the rental agreement, just in case of billing and discussion issues. you can friend me if you need more info

Hi everyone! I'm new here. Last week my son and I drove his car to Norfolk, where he is stationed and where he wants to keep his 6 years old car. But yesterday he told me over the phone that he might be deploy soon and he is not sure he wants to keep car there because of storage issue. Please give me advice how and where people leave the cars when they going on deployment.Thank you.
