Did anyone else receive what I call strange email from a zainab dosi giving a personal email address to contact and a couple of navy dads links?  I am very security conscious and am very hesitant to follow links.

It seems strange anything legitimate wouldn't have been posted here for discission.

Thanks for the suggestions on dealing with Verizon but I spent over an hour in total frustration on the phone with them tonight. Verizon said that my Son put the phone on vacation hold but they weren't allowed to discuss it with me since I am not on the account. My Son said he told Verizon he was deploying and they said it would be on hold until he returned and called them. Charges are up to $435 now and growing. Does anyone know if there are any Navy resources that can help? I don't want my son coming home broke and with bad credit. Verizon did ask me to tell my Son thanks for his service.

Robert- I was able to put my sons phone on Military Suspension through verizon without any forms or paperwork. I just needed his duty station, and  Commanding officers name in order to do it over the phone.

AT&T put my son's phone on military hold with no paper work. That's about the only decent thing they have done for us, however.

Robert, I had a similar issue w/ Verizon. The first time I just suspended it fro 90 days because I was not given the military option on the phone.

I went to a Verizon store and the salesperson there called Verizon and my son's phone was indefinitely suspended until he returns. It can be suspended for up to 18 - 24 months.

Hope this helped.

We got a call from our Son Sunday morning and it was great to hear his voice. He said it was hot but they were enjoying themselves while on base.

Does anyone know how to get some form of deployment papers for our loved ones. Verizon has been calling repeatedly about my sons cell phone. He put it on hold when they deployed and was rold all was fine but now Verizon says it was not put on military hold so it has been racking up charges even though not used. Verizon has not done him right on this and say that if we provide deployment papers they can put it on hold.
