I hear bahrain from my boy .
Mark, I am SO glad you heard from your son. It helps a LOT doesn't it? When my son e-mails its like a special delivery gift, even though it is RARELY more than a sentence. I'm glad you got the call...
Mark, I'm so happy you heard. Enjoy your holiday wedekend!!! BTW I have never gotten a call from my son. He is just not a communicator. I receive emails when I write asking questions.
I finally got a call now that they are on Dry land. He is doing well still trying to get ship email. He said he will have his Chief go with him next time he goes to IT to ask for it. At lease he is doing well. Now I know how my family felt when I was deployed.
Mark, when my son joined we hardly ever heard from him. After I adopted the "no news is good news" attitude it was easier. I figured if he was hurt the Navy would knock on my door or call. I got a call once to tell him not to get on the road traveling home because of this bad weather coming and making driving hazardous. He had already left! He was traveling with my daughter who kept me apprised.

Mark I had a smiliar situation. Send me a message and I will fill you in.
Yes he is not much of a writer. I am just being a worry wart parent. I did hear from him a month ago. I just wish the ship could get him email. I hear other parents on the NFM web site saying they get email from there sons. If I do not hear from him by the end of Sep I will contact the Ombudsman.
Mark, You may have told me already, but what is your son's rate and rank? I'll try to get a message to him. Have you written him?
