It was great to have my son home . Its also wonderful to see how much he has outgrown his local friends , in a very good way . He has become more of a man , more independant . I not only love him now , I like him now .

Has everyone enjoyed seeing their Sailor over the break? It was SO good to have ours home.  He got to meet his 7 month old niece for the first time.  That was really neat!!

I wonder how the repairs to the flght deck are coming...?

My son is back in Virginia after a nice Christmas and New Years together. One of THE proudest moments in my life when I saw the Mighty Ike coming around the point with my son on board! Now, as our country calls on The Ike to perform again so quickly, we humbly pray that God will again keep them safe until they return again with nobler deeds accomplished and finer reputation won!

My son flew back to Norfolk yesterday.  What a blessing it was to have him home for the holidays.

I got to fly to Norfolk the day after IKE arrived. Although I missed seeing my son when he got off the ship, we had an AMAZING day on the 21st. He showed me the ship and the hangar where the birds are now. We finished the day will all you can eat crab. It was a once in a lifetime experience. I can't imagine a Tiger Cruise. Its good to have him home for Christmas.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Awesome pictures, Paul! It was so amazing, being pierside, a new experience for me.
My son, his shipmate and I spent a couple days with my brother and his wife, in VA.
We have made it back to Florida, nasty holiday traffic!
I am so grateful to be able to have a nice family Christmas and have the pleasure of giving one to someone that would not of had the chance.
Merry Christmas to all!!!!!!!!!!
