My sailor is being very tight lipped about IKE's arrival date.  Any of you guys have a clue.  I sure would like to be in Norfolk when they arrive.

Crazy times. My son is scheduled to be flown to meet Ike very soon. Looks like he will get there in time to sail back to Norfolk.

Thanks for sharing that link John! Totally awsome!
Hey Ike, here comes my son. He is an AE asigned to VFA103, the Jolly Rogers. He catches a MAC flight later today from the east coast. Of course he is nervous about everything. I am totally jealous. We had a Thanksgiving for him Friday and he got to stuff himself with turkey and dressing.

Again thanks very much. Yeah, my wife left when our daughter was 9 months. Missed her first bday and first steps. She was gone five months back for two weeks and gone again. Besides I miss her to were very close

My apologies Brian. I had the right sentiment, just the wrong time frame! lol I know your hands have got to be full. On the other hand, I couldn't imagine having to leave my son when he was not yet a year old. You get some bonding time with your daughter that she will miss. It was hard saying good bye to my son on the pier that day, but I was struck by the number of people that had small kids and were going through the same thing. You and your family will remain in my prayers until they all come home safely!

Thank you very much Bill. It is my wife deployed, my daughters only 16 months old lol.

I have a hard to time as well Brian. I just think of the hardships that my son is going through and it keeps my sadness in perspective. We pray that our sons and daughters become responsible men and women, and in my mind, they are doing just that. Taking responsibility, and doing something honorable. Just 11 more day to Thanksgiving, and we can be thankful for the young men and women our kids have become. Stay positive for their sake and remember as hard as it is on us, it is harder on them! You will be in my prayers.

Bob, Thanks for the history post.  I have looked around for something like that.  GREAT information...
