Looks like Petty Officer exam results (names) are due anyday now. Good luck to everyone who has a sailor taking the exam and anxiously awaiting their results. They've already released the advancement quotas. Looks like 16.69% overall are being promoted this cycle, though the promotion rate varies widely by rating. Link is below.

Hope your son's hand is soon healed. I am glad that the didn't lose the finger!

Found out that my son almost lost a finger in an accident on the GW... He is doing ok now but is having to adapt to not using his right hand for anything as there is a ton of stitches in it... It was his pinky that he almost lost.

GODSPPEED to our sailors!

Great video Cora. What a shame about Family Day. I hope no one was stuck with air fare.

BZ to Garrett! I know that you are a proud dad, Brad.

Great news! Garrett passed his TSO boards on the GW! This is the final big qual for rescue swimmers to be responsible for everything in the SH-60 behind the cockpit.
Comment by Brad on October 15, 2010 at 9:00pm
Mike, he is a rescue swimmer AW rate. The ASW/ASWC is relatively new term that relates to the jobs required by rescue swimmers/airwarefare AW rate to address all functions behind the cockpit of Romeo SH-60 helo's and responsible for the antisub sonar functions and search and rescue functions. Level 3 equates to the old TSO qualification term and completes the major required training for this rate to be fully qualified and responsible without any supervision to handle any and all functions behind the cockpit for missions of antisub and search & rescue.
