My son is one of the many new dads returning from deployment to meet his daughter for the first time.  His wife returned to Michigan to have the baby and is staying with family there.  Our reunion will be delayed a few extra hours while he catches a flight home.  Best wished to all the other new parents on the HST

Thanks for the reminder Paul and Otto.  It's easy to get a little over anxious and let some things "slip".

@ Celeste...Good advice.  I agree, let them talk about the things they want to talk about, when THEY want to.  The "eat and sleep" thing has already been mentioned by my daughter in an email. I'm just thankful for a safe return of all of them!

thanx Otto...I've been monitoring this group pretty closely to see that we don't have any issues and have meaning to remind everyone of the importance of OPSEC!!!

Ariel:  All that I can say after listening to my dad's WWII stories and my eldest son's stories about his years in the mid 90's in the Navy and a few of my youngest stories (the Truman sailor now) is when they want to talk about their experiences they will--just listen.  If they don't want to talk about it--don't make them.  --Feed them well "just like mama used to do" and let them sleep, go out with friends and enjoy the short time you may have with them--they deserve it!  They are REAL MEN now!  Tell your son thank you for his service.

Can not wait to see our son.  We are so proud of all these sailors aboard the Truman!  Wouldn't miss this event for the world!

Posted earlier on the Truman Facebook page:

OPSEC REMINDER: The closer we get to our homecoming, the more important OPSEC becomes. Hi Bob:

They call it a party but it's an info session for the next day.  It is organized through the FRG so if your daughter has you set up with them they can send you the info.
