Our son sent us an e-mail regarding us going on a tiger cruise when they are heading back in from their deployment. My wife has asthma and we are wondering if it might be a bit to much for her. There are two choices for the cruise, one is several days and the other is one day or just a day trip. Has anyone gone on one of these cruise's with a health issue? She uses an inhaler but does get winded when climbing steps or on a long walk. Any feed back would be welcome. Thank's.

at that time severe asthma was a disqualifer - I suggest you post your question on the Stennis page (http://www.navydads.com/group/ussjohncstenniscvn74) as they just returned from a cruise and might have updated information

We are new to the tiger cruise and would like some info:
- How long will ship be in pearl before departing on the cruise?
- Will our sailor have any liberty in pearl?
- Any liberty in San Diego?
- Can both parents go on cruise?
- Any recommended hotels in the area of pearl?
I don't have any news on the cruise either. Waiting for a return date from our son as we are also new to this.

Hey there Joe and George,
I've heard from my son on the Nimitz that they received an email in the past couple of days regarding the Tiger Cruise. Here's what he wrote: "So I just got a tiger cruise email. It says expect early Oct and it should take 6 days to get from Hawaii to San Diego. Official dates will be released at the end of July so it’s more accurate."
So, looks like we're in a bit of a holding pattern still. I would suspect that they will have some liberty in Hawaii, as they do at their other ports. I don't really know about San Diego.
Stay tuned, see you in October!
Thank's for the info Steve.

we are not posting dates here so please watch OPSEC.......you are very close to violating policy so please watch it!
All I can say is if you have a chance to go...GO!
My wife, youngest son, and I went on the one from Everret to San Francisco for the Golden Gate Bridge's 75th anniversary. Lot's of walking, lot's of ladder climbing but most of all, dress warm. I took what I thought was warm cloths but it wasn't enough. I should have taken a bit heaver coat.
@Joe, I think your wife would be fine with her inhaler because I did see some other guests with inhalers. But they do a health screen to be sure.
Again, dress warm. We went at the end of May and it was cold on the ship.
