The ship received 127 pallets of mail today. Cross your fingers.

Sounds like all you can do is file a claim with the Post Office IF IT WAS INSURED.

Kevin...what time frame was that package sent to your son?  I mailed a package to my son on Feb 7 which he hasn't received yet.  However there has been mailed reaching the sailors that was mailed during that time frame.  My son also said something about some mail being lost during a transfer at sea however his DIVO said that was not true as he was on the flight deck during the transfer.  I will have to ask him again about this and if it is true then I will have him ask about the forms that need to be filled out.

My son, Sean was expecting a package from home that included some books he would always read to his son at bedtime. Sean was going to record himself so his boy could hear him reading the stories. Sean was finally informed that two crates were lost to the briny deep during a transfer at sea. There are forms to fill out if you have a claim. If your package hasn't arrived after a few weeks, have your sailor ask about it.

That's great Mike that you received a phone call too.  Emails are great but nothing compares to hearing their voices.

Yes, we do need to keep the sailors over in the Med. and all the other Military in our thoughts and prayers.  God bless them all!

Hello everyone...I received a phone call today from my sailor.  It was great to hear his voice.  He said they are all doing fine and they are taking all precautions necessary to ensure their safety.  He said it's very cold on the ship.  He said the sailors have donated personal items to send to the Japenese people.  He said he didn't have much but sent over just about all of his socks and a couple of hoodies that he had.  I am so proud of the sailors on the RR for their generousity and compassion for those people.  He also said they did receive some mail this week but it hasn't all been sorted yet and he hasn't gotten any but holding out hope that he gets the 2 packages I have sent him.  He hasn't received the first package I mailed the first of Feb yet.  I think I will start numbering my boxes.  THanks for that idea Crystal.   Hope you all have a good weekend and are hearing from your sailors too.

He has this full deployment, then back to Point Loma and Maybe the Nimitz. Seems to be adjusting and doing well. Thanks again

It is hard I know. We are so glad to be at the end of this sea rotation. Just keep emailing him. We number the boxes. Always put something different so I could say did you get the box with the ... Magazine in it yet. That way we knew where we were at. You will adjust to how long iit takes. Makes planning for an easter box now impossible. Just make one up and send it anyway. Holidays are in your heart and noit the calendar when you are a Navy family.

Thanks Crystal, that will make his Mom happy, and him feel a little better.
