Would appreciate your prayers. DS had MRI and we meet with neurologist on
Friday as a family. I knowhe will be fine, just hope he can stay in the Navy at this new desk job he loves.

Good morning Reagan Family. Sounds like the Christmas party was nice from the scuttlebutt. Hope everyone is getting time with their sailors over the holidays. Crystal.

Thank you, I hope so. He had a couple of head injuries as a child and there is no familial history of seizures, so, we will see. Having said that, he was asked to take a high security clearance job doing some admin work and he said it was "Great!" and he is thinking that is a place he'd like to serve...they say the DC job is THE most dangerous job on the carrier per a program I watched on the military channel...I had no idea I was supposed to worry more! And, at least he will not be on ladders all day. He ran two miles Sunday morning and had no problem. Thank you again for that insight! It is taking a long time to get voicemails returned from medical and to make appointments for interviews and tests. If this is what 'government' health care is like, let me keep my PPO. Anyone else have a thought?

I remember when Justen had his problem. It took weeks for appt. and tests. He can stay on limited duty for 6 months while they try to find him an answer. We learned to be patient and he worked in Legal while he waited for tests and an answer. Don't give up. Maybe it is temporary.

Follow up, we don't have a diagnosis yet...there are weeks of testing ahead.

Two days ago we learned my son who wanted nothing else since 9/11 but to serve aboard an air craft carrier. Kept his nose clean all through high school, sea cadets and boot camp...has two cruises under his belt in just two years of service... had a seizure out of no where and is now off his beloved ship.

It is more devastating for me I think, but, he is handling it very well and going with the flow. The hard part is him losing his dream and his driver's license (by law) for six months. He will be 21 next month. Bummer, bummer, bummer.

They have found him a 'desk' job because his DC (firefighting) career is already over at this point. No ladders. He is excited about the new job that uses his high security clearance on the amphib base and he can still ride to work with his three roommates from their new apartment.

Fortunately I am here in the same town...just goes to show ya...things can change dramatically from one minute to the next! Give your sailor an extra 'hug' today and thank them for their service and sacrafices for us/US.

Quick update. Justen made E5. Now waiting to hear the offical date to put it on. Possibly a date to be frocked.

Flight back to SD was an adventure. He was in Phoenix over 3 hours. Fogged out of SD. The plane ran low on Fuel. They were not suppose to land in Phoenix. He had only 4 hours of sleep before he was back to work and on duty.

That is GREAT. Glad to know we are very family holiday oriented like some others. I thought maybe we were totally outside the box. I really think they need this when they are home. The best topper is Justen's friend stationed in Florida is here also. The week went by so fast. I could not have enough time. I am glad he will come home over the holidays again. I could see it being along time until we see him after that. Thank God for all the sailors and their families.
