Steve Has been on the ship a couple of months now and said he loves it .
Not having to pump your own gas is nice until you leave the state, and you get to a gas station and feel like a jerk because you dont know what to do LOL

Rick welcome! Mississippi here. My mother was born and raised in Jersey though. I have visited many times. Not being able to pump my own gas up there and no left turns at red lights gets me every time. Is Steve on the ship yet? My son was flown to the Reagan a couple of months ago. Again it's great to have you here with us.

Pat I was checking in on Dylan. Is he liking San Diego? Evan is doing good. He's just ready to get back on land. The cruise is almost over and the Reagan will be in San Diego soon. Dylan will not believe how big it is. I just wanted to check in with you. Sorry I've been so busy. Let me know how he's doing and if he is liking Cali.

This is a email from Evan everyone read:Hey.. I just got back from the concert.. And he dedicated a song to us..
Freedom fighter.. You should look it up on you tube.. And changed the
words around to saying you are why I'm free.. It was amazing.. 1000
people pretty much started crying when he had a note for a luetenant
from his wife.. He just got back from iraq and couldn't talk to her..
And she went to creed and gave him a note for him and today is his
birthday and he just got back and he called him to the stage and was
like your wife told me to give it to you.. She loves you and your kids
love you.. He was like this song I am about to play is dedicated to all
of you from your families back home.. Ialready miss my family and I know
you all do so much more.. And he played arms wide open.. It gave me
chills.. I love you guys so much..

Pat keep me posted on Dylan. Let me know if their sending him to the ship. Evan was there about 3 weeks before the flew him out.

Welcome Pat. My son arrived in San Diego Sept 1. He loved the couple of weeks he had there before they flew him out to catch up with the Reagan. He is ABE and is working on the flight deck. I'm sure Dylan will love it as well. Evan said S.D. is beautiful. Enjoy the time with Dylan after A school it go's by too fast. I tried to talk my son into being a writer because it is something he loves to do. So I'm glad we have a journalist on board. Maybe he will write about what us dads are doing on this site for our Navy children one day. Front page news! Tell Dylan I wish him the best of luck in his journey's and look forward to sharing info and stories with you.

Great Job Evan! What made you choose SD over WA or VA? If I had to go to the west, I'd go NW, but I've never been to Everett. Whidbey Island is beautiful! I was born in VA and still have family there, so I liked being close (although with the air wing we were only there infrequently). See what you can find out about Tiger Cruise for your folks (in the old days only men could go about, but we know who the REAL boss is EG!). My dad and uncle joined me for 3 days at the end of my cruise on the Nimitz from Bermuda to Norfolk, VA. It was a great experience for them.
