Hi Ed, I spend a lot of time in and around the Asotin area for work. My son is going to MA school once basic is done. he hopes to be on the East Coast somewhere. He wants to travel guess he is a little tired of the Eastern Wa. area.

My son, Cameron, is a HT and serving aboard the USS Shiloh based in Yokosuka, Japan. He had hoped for an assignment in San Diego or Bremerton but was handed orders to Japan. He is doing well and has had some great experiences over there. He swore in September 1o, 2008 and left for Japan May 27, 2009. We live in Asotin.

I'm proud to be a new member of this group. My son, Justin, is in BC and will graduate on 12/4. His A-school will be in Dam Neck VA and is putting in for either Bremerton or Everett. He got sworn in back in Feb and actually got the privilege of getting sworn in at a Mariner game this past summer. We live in Kent.

Hi Scott..We got our first formal letter about 18 days after James left. His group didn't seem to want to work together. It seems that we got the first real phone call about three and a half weeks into B.C. not counting "P" week. As for where he is,he is land based at Port Hueneme as a steel worker with the 40th nmcb.

Steve...Tell me when did you get your first formal letter from James ? When did you get ( after his arrival call ) your first chance to talk to him ?? Is he in San Diego ?? What's did he study for ?? Is he on land or sea ??

Good morning Scott..... I can't forget those miserable temps!! James accounts of B.C. sound pretty much similar to what David is going thru.James was singled out because he is pretty much a country boy and he dresses and acts like one,in a good way. as far as "A" school he was in Gulf Port Louisiana for about 5 months. He just got to Cali. last week-end.

Steve.....I forgot....90 to 100 plus temps stink ! My wife, one of my daughters and David's girl friend are all going back for graduation. All we have gotten is a short note from him that boot camp was brutal but he was hanging tough...Unlike his dad who probably would ask the RDC's if I could go to Starbucks for a coffee ?? Ha !! He did say jokingly his name is not David but he is now called dumb ass ??? I guess an ass ...or jack ass is a hard working creature that can climb hills etc ??? There are much worse things to be called...Where did your son James go to A school ?? What was his expierience with boot camp ??

Hi Scott..you have that right as far as the no news.I, like you missed my son when he went in back in February.Eventually we got used to it,but there were a lot of sleepless nights. Are you going back to G.L for graduation? For us it was well worth it,as we didn't see James until he graduated "A" school which was another 3 months. As for the weather Scott, right now it is as i like it,but that 95 to 108 we had here last month was a little bit to much for me{:-)
