Apprentice Technical Training (ATT) is computer-based training (CBT).

It is self-paced and can take from 8 to 63 days depending on the rating.

I write 6 weeks because that is average. Ratings with ATT at GL prior to "A" School There are more AE AO AT EM ET FC GM MN AEF

Jim and Paul, Here is the link concerning "AO" A-school, says it was updated 12/29/12. The link at top of page opens an Excel spreadsheet, schroll down to find Pensecola A school, then schroll down to AO, out to the right it says Apprentice Technical Training is at GL prior to A-School.  http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/ratings-a-school-locations-and

Jim , I found that same info. My wife is looking for what she found last nite that showed extra training prior to "A" school. I will share when we find.

I have to question that Jim as I seem to recall 2-3 weeks of indoc training at Great Lakes.....seems to me Eric was there for about three weeks before going to Oceana for his AM training

After PIR is there an additional technical training school in Great Lakes prior to new sailors going to Pensecola for "AO" "A School" ?

THanks for the welcome. Our son leaves for "Basic" on December 11th, then to AO "A School"
