Hi guys, the girls are going out next Sat. Flights were $335. It will be the 2nd time James has seen his wife in nearly 4 mo. so Lisa said she can take a 5-10 min. walk. Should be more than enough time (lol). He has been phase 3 for several weeks now so he will be able to bivouac w/ them at the Navy Lodge. By the way, if you do go visit the kids check out the Navy Lodge. It's a great deal and on base.

Hey James,  What airline did you find the $152 round trip ticket?

That's great that she has a new outlook after finishing BC and starting class.  Didn't really have the second thoughts with Ryan. He is older than most new recruits, and has experienced college, travel, and a few different jobs.  I told him to keep an eye out for Melissa since we have been talking.  He thinks he knows who she is.  Keep encouraging her to live her dream!  My youngest graduated high school in May, moved to LA to pursue a film career.  She got a job with Universal Studios this week and is on top of the world.

Awesome to hear.  I am sure he is glad to get things started....From what Rick said....the first couple weeks is the same for all.....Melissa is doing well....wants to keep her grades up to get to C School.  Did any of you go through the drama of their child second guessing their decision initially right before departing for Boot Camp?  When we talk now...it's been 180 degree turnaround....she has been talking a career in the Navy now....LOL....

I might drive to Orlando and fly from there!

Comment by James Montgomery on September 9, 2014 at 12:22pm

Ouch!!!!!  I would probably fly for the ease of it...but by the time you get to airport blah blah blah....rental car etc.....just as easy to drive up....plus daughter wants me to bring the spare vehicle up to her so she has mobility when not in school.....even if just to go shopping in town etc....

Try Columbus, there's no good way to get to Pensacola. Lisa & Sami's flights are double that.

Comment by James Montgomery on September 9, 2014 at 10:08am

Yes.....about 6 1/2 hour drive for me.  Best price to Pensacola I can find is about $152 round trip.  Cheaper than my Chicago Flight....but not a whole lot....
