I guess I should have read the family RTC guide link here first. Looks like nothing at all after PIR, even later when they return from their short liberty. I guess it boils down to whether we want to get up at O dark thirty and meet him at the airport or trust the USPS later...
Did he stay in Great Lakes though?
Does anybody have any information on what items we can give to our sailors after PIR, or before they depart for A School? I have read that we cannot give them items right after the graduation. What about later when we get to spend time with them? Will they be able to take things back with them to pack and take in their duffle bag to A School? What about laptops and other items? Do we ship them to A School or can provide them before they leave for A School?
Hi Doug. My son has not mentioned where exactly he will be going after A school nor have i received a letter saying so. I bet he will say once we see him on Friday. Hope to meet everyone at the meet and greet with Sarge. Take care and God Bless. Go NAVY
Angie, my son Shane is also Ship 4, Division 84. Have you heard anything about where he goes after A school? We just got a letter form our son. He is definitely going to Point Mugu NAS after A school. He said several others around him have their assignments as well. Some are going directly to a carrier, some are going to Norfolk, VA, some are going to Lemoore NAS in California, some are going to Washington state, and some are going to North Island, which is in the San Diego Navy complex. These are just some of the places he has heard about so far from other recruits.
I wanted to say Thank you to everyone on this PIR 1-29-16 message board. So much helpful information. My son is in Ship 04 Div 084 and we are jumping out of our skin just wanting to see him. Great Lakes here we come.
One more week !!!!!
Division 84, Ship 4. He told us a while ago he would be going to Pensacola so I have no reason to believe that has changed.
Hi Doug,
My son is also in APACT, he told me he is going to Pensacola for 3-4 weeks. What division is your son?
