It's getting close to PIR gentlemen! We discussed it and decided we would meet up at Flanagan's for their meet and greet.
Here's a Google Maps link to Flanagan's: http://goo.gl/maps/eT92s
And here is the info on what's available there:
- Free appetizer buffet which includes:
- Free music and Karaoke starting at 8:00pm
- $10 Gift Certificate for navy graduates meal (steak and seafood included)
- You may use your $10 gift certificate you received from participating hotels (or ask for one when you come in) for dinner during or after the Meet & Greet at Flanagan's.
- $1 Domestic Tap
- $2 Import Tap
- $2 Domestic Bottle
The Meet and Greet will begin at 5pm each Thursday, or day before Graduation, and will end around 9pm.

We just got my son's first letter and on the return envelope is a different address than the one in the form letter. My son told us that "someone" said to use this new address. I wanted to be sure,…Continue

Hey guys, the meet and greet event I posted was taken down by the site admin because it is not an officially sanctioned event, which is fine. There are good reasons for it, but I'll not get into that…Continue

To print passes go to http://bootcamp.navy.mil/, then go to families tab, under families tab go to graduations, go to sidebar of graduation, find upcoming graduations and click on it. on this page see if " get gate passes" is beside the PIR date you need. If it is you should be able to click on it and print it out after logging in with the info from the form letter.
So how do we print our passes for graduation???
Jeff, I reckon they ought to be getting tired by now.
23 Days and a wake-up and we will be able to see them!
26 days and a wake-up till pass-in-review.
We got our first call from Brandon, ship 14 div 334. Actually, he called his mother and brother first and they told him to call me next because I was somewhere else. He said everything is going well and the best parts of the day are the meals and when he gets letters. He didn't sound much different than before, but it still made me proud to talk to him knowing he's in the Navy.
My wife got the call today from Dan, ship 14 Div 333. It was short, less than 5 minutes. He's doing good, had wisdom teeth pulled last week, but other than that, doing good.
@Jay: Yes, I noticed a slight change after just the short time he has been there. I suspect the next 5 weeks will make an even bigger impact. He was already a very responsible young man going in, but it was funny hearing him ask "adult" questions pertaining to such things as insurance plans, etc. I suspect life is coming at them pretty fast right now. :) He said he is doing well and was upbeat, but encouraged us to keep writing often. The letters really do make a huge difference to the SRs!
Thanks Jeff. That makes it easier. If it was on base I have to get in touch with the Deputy Chief there. Only federal LEO's can carry on base. I would have to make arrangements to secure it in there armory. They said this is not a big deal but they need notice. But being it's off base I can lock it in a safe there or i will bring a lock box I can secure with a cable
Can anyone tell me if the Navy Lodge is located on the base itself or just outside?
