It's getting close to PIR gentlemen! We discussed it and decided we would meet up at Flanagan's for their meet and greet.
Here's a Google Maps link to Flanagan's: http://goo.gl/maps/eT92s
And here is the info on what's available there:
- Free appetizer buffet which includes:
- Free music and Karaoke starting at 8:00pm
- $10 Gift Certificate for navy graduates meal (steak and seafood included)
- You may use your $10 gift certificate you received from participating hotels (or ask for one when you come in) for dinner during or after the Meet & Greet at Flanagan's.
- $1 Domestic Tap
- $2 Import Tap
- $2 Domestic Bottle
The Meet and Greet will begin at 5pm each Thursday, or day before Graduation, and will end around 9pm.

We just got my son's first letter and on the return envelope is a different address than the one in the form letter. My son told us that "someone" said to use this new address. I wanted to be sure,…Continue

Hey guys, the meet and greet event I posted was taken down by the site admin because it is not an officially sanctioned event, which is fine. There are good reasons for it, but I'll not get into that…Continue

We got our SR's first letter today! He says it is mentally and physically tough, but he is making it ok. (He is in great shape and is into training and weightlifting, so RTC must be pretty grueling for him to say that.) Already looking forward to the next letter!
@Jeff: Thanks much for the tips! Yes, we definitely will check out the fountain as well.
We will be staying at Navy Lodge on 11th and 12th. We hope to spend a couple of days after PIR seeing Chicago. I am sure touring Chicago will be a huge let-down after the emotional high it sounds like PIR will be!
@Tom: Congrats on the call! Sounds like Kyle is going through the ringer, but glad to hear he will be ok!
@Tina- We will also be staying at the Navy Lodge.
Got a phone call last night from our son, Kyle. Ship 4 div 822. Good to hear his voice! Got his wisdom teeth pulled, had a cold, now has pink eye, other than that said all is well.
@Dylan: How awesome! What an honor! My son is likely performing in the drum line, but who knows....no letter yet, but the mail seems to run a bit slow around here. I just joined the 900's FB group you mentioned, but the membership is moderated...just waiting on approval from the admin. Thanks for the heads-up about the FB page.
I wish your wife well!
Just got the letter. She's going to be carrying the Virginia state flag.
@ Terry, I don't know what my wife does in 948 yet... Still no letter!
Also, I'd heard from the 900s divs page on facebook that div 948 just got a chance to get our letters and write this last sunday.
