My son has left Widbey ( I will miss visiting) he is now in Busan Korea.  He just got there a few days ago.  Not sure if I can make that trip! He is out at the end of this assignment in about 9 months.  The time has gone quickly.

How's your Whidbey Island sailors???  Mine will have been out of the country 10 out of the last 12 months when he returns in the fall.

No problem this is the frst time that I have been on since I posted  on Saturday.  My son is with the VQ squadron.  He will leaving with a detactment in a few weeks and will not return till spring.

Yes, Cody is with a VAQ squadron and enjoys it. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. I am tied to a computer during the week and a smart phone 24-7. I try to take the weekends without any computer or e-mail interaction.

 

I think you will enjoy your visit. Whidbey Island is a beautiful place. I've travelled to the Seattle area several times on business before visiting Whidbey and beside the scenery, there are many things to do.

Thanks we have not to Whidbey yet.  Maybe in the fall.  We will have to see how long the up coming detachment lasts.  My wife and I are looking forward to a trip to visit. Andrew is in his second enlistment and may go for a third.  We will see?

The weather is not the best there that is for sure.  I have visited my son out there twice and loved it.  We went to Seattle and on one trip with my father we all went to a great Craft Beer festival on the main land.  My son is coming home for a few weeks then headed to South Korea to finish up his enlistment.  I hope to visit him in Pusan.
Loved the redwoods on whidbey and the rockfish grill!

Jack,

My wife and I visited our son in December and although it wasn't very pleasant, we could easily see the beauty of the island. I appreciate the information and will pass it along to my son. My wife has a high school classmate that settled Coupville after he retired from the Navy. The area certainly made an impression on him.
