- I'm a military mom with a Active Duty Son in the United States Marine Corps and my other son his twin brother is currently in Great Lakes RCT Navy boot camp he arrived on 1/15/19 to begin his training in boot camp I was notified last night and this morning he had called me again to let me know he's being separated from the Navy and just arrived early this morning to ship 5 for medical reasons is what he told me. Information I got was that the process of being separated from Navy boot camp keep you 10 to 20 working days or even longer it could be weeks or possibly longer is what I'm finding out he's very upset and just wants to come home is there anything I could do to help him with this process to get him home soon he did sign the waiver when he arrived to separation ship 5 giving me permission to speak to the recruiter regarding a separation and if needed to make changes to his travel plans home I just want to help him to get home he's been through hard time and he's upset. I'm only familiar with you USMC because my son is active duty in the Marine corpse and my father was a Marine Recon veteran who served in Vietnam. I would also advise that your son signs a HIPPA waiver so that you can find out what medical issues he has by talking to the medical staff. There is also a re-enlistment code chart in there that will tell you what he needs to go back if he wants.
The other thing I would say is that you don't call so much. Get your answers and try not to call very often. He will make it home eventually.
