Hi
Tomorrow morning I will be bringing my daughter to the recruiter office for shipping out to boot camp. I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on what I should do as a single parent for her the last night with me.

Well - I have not posted anything since PIR on 11-9-12. Now "A" school "Logistics" is over and our son John just spent the last two weeks at home with us. It was very good to have him home. But now the Hard Part. He left today to go to his first assignment aboard the USS Rushmore that is based in San Diego. Sorry so long to respond.Daniel graduated on 2/1. He had 6 days leave. He is on his way to Okinawa. That was his choice - he loves scuba diving so he is very excited. Glad to hear Amber loves Spain. I heard it is very nice.

Hello everyone and thank you for making me feel welcome. My son, Cory, has not yet joined the Navy. He will be taking the ASVAB either tomorrow or sometime next week. He is going for Master of Arms. Does anyone have any advise for us before he takes the ASVAB. He doesn't test well (even in school) and the first test he took he scored a 45. He was told that he needs to score at least a 50 to enlist in the Navy.

That apparently has prompted the attached article which suggests that times have changed for Navy COs. Being a naval commander was never an easy job but according to this article in today's world it has gotten even harder. Any thought about this? …
