just wanted to add some additional details about my father's service...SKII William Wolfcale served aboard the light cruiser USS Huntington and was on a humanitarian mission to Africa when he earned his shellback for crossing the equator. The date on my dad's shellback was 1948. I have it framed in my apartment in Calfornia...I have pictures of him onboard various ships crossing under the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge in the SF Bay Area.
