Navy Dads

Hey anyone here going to this graduation? Haven't heard from anyone from this site about thier future sailors from this group. it would be nice to get to know some people before we get there. My son is ready to be done with boot camp, and get on with school. now we also have to plan another trip to Great Lakes for A-school Graduation. We live in Washington, are going to drive to boot Grad. but will fly for the other so we can spend more time with him. Hope all are safe and well and Happy memorial day to all . Jim

My SR is graduating that same day (Ship 12 Div 182).

He leaves for Goose Creek, SC for A school. The rumor is he will be leaving the next day so time after graduation visiting him will be limited. But we are outside of Philly so SC is not unreasonable for regular visits whenever possible. His letters have gotten more and more upbeat as I know he sees the end of the tunnel ahead.

Hope to meet you at Great Lakes. Congrats to you and your SR.

Jim, the best way to get info on Sarges meet and greet is to simply google it. There ie a link on Navymoms but i have a hard time finding it. There are a few different meet and greets that offer dinner and drinks and all the do and dont's of Chicago and Great lakes. Sarge is a 20 year retired Army veteran and owns a taxi service in the area. His meet and greet is highly recommended. It is on Thursday nights at the Sundance Saloon (all ages) from 5 -min 10 pm.

Hey Jim, we will be there, for sure. My wife our SR's little brother and older sister, Grandpa (ex Navy) and our daughters husband (former Marine) We fly in 14 June and out on 17 June. Our SR is also ready to finish and get on to A school. He has not been challenged much at RTC. and is excited to PIR and get to the next phase. We plan to go to Sarges meet & greet if our plane is on time.
