Navy Dads

Got our call last night at around 9PM.  My wife took the call, and said it sounded very scripted...  but not much different than his usual calls... My son is very quick, and to the point..  just thought it rather funny that his communication style already matches the Navy!

I read this post this morning. I experienced the same thing. Got the call at 1:29 a.m. Almost sounded like a recording. He was short to the point and didn't say good bye. I could hear yelling of Lets go Lets go ! In the background. I was wide awake and totally struggled with it but realized the purpose was to let me know he was there and not talk. Thanks for sharing. I would advise other parents to not get to caught up in the call as I did. I had been anticipating what I would say or what he would. It went nothing like that. Thankful I got it. I guess it is hard to remove our self from this as parents and totally focus on them and the stronger we are the better they will be. So I am hoping I will get a feel if to write, what to write and how often to write. Any dads suggestions on what you did would be appreciated.

Kevin,

Sounds like your son is at RTC at the same time as mine. He got to RTC on Monday, we got our call around 10:30pm that night.
