EG - It was funny you mentioned using Windows Movie Maker because I use it to put together events or trips we have done (my cheating for a DVD lol). I don't have a DVD burner so I usually send it to a friend that does and presto DVD :). I thought about putting a movie video on here I had made from the pictures the young man I have taken in took while on his trip to Washington, D.C. with the Army National Guard Sept. 19-21st. I guess I haven't because I know how much the Army and Navy like each other lol. Hey I meant to ask you what part of base in Pensacola did Evan stay? Wes says the part he is on is called The Blue Angels and he is in the Charlie Barracks (building he sleeps in). Thanks again for making such a heartfelt video!! God Bless, Michele :)

seriously now...I thought it was great! A pretty balanced mix of serious pics along with fun and those not at ramrod attention!! Now if I can only get Eric to stop sending me pics taken with his iPhone as they come through as e-mail graphics and I can't save the image......that's why I have so many more of Kat than eric!!

Keep up the good work and we'll start to call you "Spielberg"

Thank you,
I am happy to be here and hope to answer the abundance of questions for you all. Also I welcome the support you just don't hear it enough in this job for every supporter i get about ten negative families. I wish your son well, and pray as he holds the watch while I am ashore.

Kevin, I will be married to my high school sweetheart on 10/04/08 for 21 years, I dated her for 8. I don't smoke, go to Dolphin and Canes games because I can't afford it. My life is go to work and then home and then all over again. What I am trying to say is that I don't have any vices. My Navy pages, my MySpace page and my Fantasy Football is all I have as a stress outlet.
I will keep them coming. Take care and God Bless.
Luis

I'm sure we will! I don't enjoy Cinderella days either. My house is crazy too, and there's only three of us! We're always going different directions. Update on Morgan. He passed his second test, which is good. It's one of the hardest he'll have. His average is 93.5, he was disappointed. He has to be in the top 2% of his class to be able to get FMF. If he does, he's hoping to get stationed in CA for school. He called this evening to tell me he'd met a guy from Idaho. They got to talking and realized they had attended a class at BSU together. Speaking of BSU, did you know they beat Oregon State today? 37 - 32. We were, at least, the 14 pt. underdogs. First time we've beaten a BSC school, first time we've beaten them on their home turf, and first time the Ducks coach lost to a WAC team. It was an awesome game. Sorry, I got side tracked! Love my Broncos! Anyway, the tests will be coming about every 3 - 5 days now, for the rest of school. Towards the end, he'll be one of the guys giving the shots to the new recruits. He laughs at that. I tell him he'd better be nice and remember what it was like for him. He chuckles. Guys. Sounds like he's making a few good friends there, which I'm happy about. It's getting colder there. Said some mornings they can see their breath. That's about it. He doesn't tell me, in detail, about anything.

Love the chat room! It was great being able to talk to Cindy and Michele at the same time. Thanks again for adding it. How was it being Cinderella today?

Hey E.G., I just figured out something you're missing on this site.....a chat room! I'm sure it wouldn't be used as much as N4M's, but I would love to sit and chat with your wife, Michele, Sindy, etc. Even you dad's. Think about it?

Thanks for the nice comment--- yeah, the carriers ARE BIG!! You stand on the flight deck and it's really a challenge reminding yourself that you are on a ship. Walking from the stern to the bow is more than a short stroll at 1096' with the deck being about 256' wide at the tower. THEN you go below deck....just goes on and on and on. I really hope you get the chance to have your sailor give you a tour of the Reagan and do a Tiger Cruise....I wasn't able to arrange a Tiger with my daugther but I'm hoping I get the chance when my son returns on the Roosevelt.

Something about testosterone and Rambo movies....brings out the wannabe man in them. Problem is, once they get to Iraq or Afganistan they are no longer watching a video or playing a computer game. It's the real thing, or surreal, or unreal...Hopefully they'll be too occupied with present life situations to do anything rash. Ultimately, we just keep praying for them, regardless of their choices, and see how the Lord works. Please don't apologize- I'm in the same boat with you! That's called fellowship!

...I forgot to add, unless the ship is required to send so many folks away, I doubt if they would let him go before the end of the cruise. Manpower is a premium on a Nimitz class carrier! Keep me informed!

We have an IA group there on N4Ms. One of the moms (Ruth CD) has a son who just returned from a tour in the sandbox as an IA, and she posted some info also.

Hi Cindy, IA stands for Individual Augmentees, or Navy personnel assigned to work with the Army and Marines overseas. The N4Ms site has a group with links to more info.
Is Evan talking about this, or did you hear it from somewhere else? My son Luke is interested in doing IA with the Marines, but I'm hoping he'll get too busy with school and work to pursue it. May the Lord's will be done. Blessings, Kevin

Thank you for the e-mail. And thank you for putting this site together! Son Matt is in week four of basic. He seems to be doing fine, but reports that his body is somewhat in need of a 24 hour time out. Don't think that's coming anytime soon!

By the way, if you were talking about the Ohio State / USC game -- it was a mess. But I stayed with it the whole way, right down to the very sad ending. Must regroup...JB

Cooler than N4M's?! Ya got me curious, what would make it cooler? Will Evan be able to stay in contact with you while he's there?
At 9:28pm on September 9, 2008, Cindy said…
Checked out your store, it's great. Cindy was telling me about it on the phone one night, you've got a very proud wife. Your thoughts on where Evan's heading? I be talking to your wife within the next couple of days.
