E.G. this site is a lifesaver but also has become very addictive. There is no way to express in words how much this site means to me.
Brian ,my son is going through battlestions at the time of this post. It is supposed to be from 8-8 starting this evening. We are anxiously waiting to hear from him. My wife is a nervous wreck and of course we can't wait to see him again. It will be a shorter time than we would have hoped as he is flying out early Saturday morning, but we will squeeze every minute out of it. Would you say a prayer for Brian and the other recruits in his division 921. I know they will be alright, but it doesn't hurt to get extra help.
Iwill keep you posted as soon as I hear from my sailor.
I have a picture of Brian being sworn in with other recruits, that would fit right in with the tribue video "Do I make you proud" I put your video on my facebook so everyone could se how precious our military family is.
E. G. thank you so much for what you do and what an inspiration this site is and has become to many. When I visit this site it is like keeping in touch with extended family. My father was a DI in the Marines, and my uncle was in the Navy, both during WW2. I was in the Army and the Air Force during the Vietnam conflict, and my brother was in the Naval resrve. My son is following in our footsteps by being in the Navy and how proud I am of him and his decision.
11 days till PIR~ HooRaah! He is doing very well. Right now we are consumed with our trip to Great Lakes... His DIV has 2 flags, hopefully more ;) Again, thank you...
Actually my husband and I are both viewing the page. I've found this site is much easier to navigate than the other... and after our SR becomes a Sailor we will continue w/ this site. Thanks, Louie and Jenn
First and foremost thank you for your kind welcome. My wife left for boot on the 23 of march. I'm still in shock over the whole deal. I never really thought it would ever rely happen. I know what to expect and when for the most part. I'm just struggling with her not being here. Been married over 5 years and dated for quite awhile before that and have never been apart more than a couple days at most. Just kinda down in the dumps over the whole deal...I know we will get through it as so many before us have...however that fact doesn't make it any easier right now. :(
Thanks for the welcome E.G. I'm glad I get to be part of both N4M & Navy Dads. It's kinda awesome. One can never have too many friends nor too much information can they???
Thank you for such a warm and heartfelt comment! I am touched by your thoughts and appreciate it so much. I read it to my son today as we talked on the phone. Last time for a while, as he has been hand picked to be on Det Alpha to be on of 4 Rescue Swimmers to fly onto the USS Shiloh for continued SAR missions while Atsugi stays more "down" as he says. Not sure how sensitive this is, so I am not sending this part out until they are away. But thank you for noticing Garrett's growth and determination to accomplish his goal to help and do something with the training he has been given. Support from this site has been a blessing and I thank you for continuing to keep this going. I hope that I have helped throught the rescue swimmer group and my various participation in the others. Gos speed to our Sailors! May God use the mightly and bring them back safely!
Thanks for the welcome note. I am a little nervous, I went off to boot camp 40 years ago but it is a lot different when you send your son off to boot camp. Thanks for starting this site. Looking forward to talking to everyone & learning from ya'lls experiences.
Thank you very much. I am the person that is going to be heading off to basic training but wanted to join the page so that I could read and reply and ask some questions of my own.
E.G. thanks so much for welcome to this site and forum. Since my son just left for boot camp at Great Lakes last week I really don't a lot about his experience yet but I am sure as time goes on I will a lot to share on the site about my son. He was in the Sea Cadets program for four years and also Air Force ROTC at his high school here in Oklahoma and he has wanted to be in the Navy since he was in grade school. Thanks again for the welcome!
Thank you for the welcome.I am very happy I found this site where I can learn some about what my grandson is going through. It does make me proud he is serving his country.I do also think the Navy will guide him in the right direction.Which he is a pretty good young man anyway.Again thanks for making me feel welcome.
Thank you very much, and thanks also for your son's service. We seem to read and read and read trying to gather as much information as possible as well as the next step for him.
