Thanks for the encouraging comments, and thank you for your service for our country.
Based on your comments, I'm heading to the paper and pen right now to craft a note and send to my son. I'll wish him Happy 20th Birthday which is in a few days.
This site has been very helpful in letting me know what my son is going through, and I really enjoy the community of parents and others here that have the same sense of honor for their kids, and the same prayer focus as these young ones train for service in our Navy.
That is great that the two girls know each other. Shelby absolutely loves the people that she goes to school with. It sounds like they are a close knit group. This is going much better than I anticpated. I am very proud of Shelby and I so respect our Soldiers, Airmen and especially Sailors.
I would love to join your grop. Please send me the invite and I will accept. Thanks again for the friend request and keep in touch! :) Thanks for starting the Intel site! Gary
Hi Gil! My wife and I watched it together. Very good insight. Love your video of your daughter. Hard to watch with a dry eye. A lot of love there for sure! Thanks!
Thanks Gil! I am very proud of Shelby as she has been doing just great so far since she entered bootcamp in Jan. She has been working extremely hard just like your daughter. Thanks for the information! You are right everything is hush, hush. We already bought her airline tickets home in between schools as she had to put in for leave by tomorrow and she had to show them her flight information. Her ticket was over $500 so I sure hope she is able to come home. I am glad your daughter is doing well and have fun when she is home on leave. Where are you from? We live in Eden Valley MN. I was also in the Navy for about 7 years.
Hey Gil. My daughter Shelby graduates for IS A school on July 1. She still does not know which C school she will attend. Do you know when your daughter found out? How long was your daughters C school. Shelby will be coming home between schools if there is lag time between the two schools. Does your daugther know where she is going next? Thanks for the invite!
Yeah Yeah time is ticking toward the proudest day of my life .To be able to see my son excel in life with the opportunity to build a firm foundation for his future... this is priceless. TO ALL RECRUITS WISE CHOICE . GOOD LUCK

Thanks Gil,
To have them home for Christmas will be awesome, it's worth the expense without a reimbursement much less with one. Will keep these kids in our prayers to be safe and stay on schedule. Thanks for the info, that makes my day.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Today was hard, The whole family went to service together this being nicos last service with us for now .The pastors prayed over him and released a blessing upon him it was very emotional for us all but we find comfort in our lord and saviour JESUS CHRIST.thanks.
it looks like your daughter just left for boot camp is that correct? if so have no fear the time goes by a little slow at first but before ya know it you will be at graduation. boy thats an emotional time. i could not keep my eyes from leaking. be sure to write a bunch. i wrote almost everyday and boy did she appreciate it. the rdc couldnt believe how many letters she would get at mail call. its important for the recruits to just here about the day to day things going on at home. let me know if there is anything i can help with. keith
In about another 6 hours she'll be thinking "what the heck have I done here....."! You'll get the "sailor in a box" and the form letter in a few days....then nothing for about 3 weeks.....that's normal!
When my son first enlisted in the Navy I found NavyForMoms in searching for answers to his future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads but found out I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and hope this site will benefit fathers that follow behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your Sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy Dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your daughters journey in the Navy. Thank Sherleyl for her service for me and thanks again for joining us.
