Thanks for the information Calvin.  I am Army, and my daughter is active Air Force. I know little about the Navy and will have to learn a lot, so I can have intelligent discussion with my son.  I will take your advice and check out the other forums.

Thank you for the warm welcome.   Catherine has been in the reserve for about 1 1/2 years. She is currently assigned to Msron 12 and getting ready for her first deployment. We were very proud of her when she did the PIR and then went to Texas for MA training. I just found this site and look forward to being a member.

Thanks for all the great information.  Our son Daniel just arrived at Great Lakes the evening of August 15th.  We have not been through this before so groups like this really help us to know what Dan is experiencing.

Thanks for the Welcome. I a few short hours we (mom, dad, 3 sons) will be leaving for Great Lakes to proudly witness our son Tom's graduation. I can't believe it's been 30 years since I did the same! Next up is Seabee "A" School. My heart is full!
