Paul, thank you so much for the welcome. I hope I am doing this correctly, I am not much of a blogger and I've never done the social networking thing. I am grateful to become part of NavyDads and eagerly look forward to the what awaits my family as the first two of my three children launch forth into their independence. Thank you for your support, I will have questions. One was answered even before I registered. My son's PIR will be 13 June 2014. My daughter will arrive there 4 November 2014.
Hi Paul - thanks so much for the warm welcome. I plan to be on this site a lot; it's already helped greatly in filling in some information gaps for me and my family. We have yet to hear from my son regarding his basic training graduation tickets, accommodations and other details surrounding that event (though his recruiter found out the graduation date for me). How should we proceed in this scenario?
Thanks for the welcome! I was in the Army but never had anyone in the Navy.
I am sure things have changed a lot since I was in the 70's. I have learned a lot since I found this site as well and look forward to going to the PIR.
My son is in the nuclear program and goes to South Carolina next for his "A" school.
Thank you for the welcome and information. I have one in the Army, but this is the first one in the Navy, so this site will help a lot. Fortunately, I come form a Navy family and I have spent 35 years working on Navy programs, so I understand a lot of the language.
He leaves great lakes around 1am, and flys to FL at 6pm tomorrow. Do we need to meet him at the gate tonight, or can he come out and meet us tomorrow, for instance in the morning? Or do we need to meet him when he first arrives at Midway?
Thanks paul i really appreciate the advice &the encouragement from everyone i have never been away this long from him, & not being able to call him or text him i have had a hard time with that my son is a strong person &has a young man is has a strong a opinion at times & that worried me some but he has a good family with lots of encouragement love his had a some what difficult life me &his father divorced at an early age & it was hard on him some what, but we have both remarried & both new spouses have been wonderfull & we all have allways let him know we love him no matter what and he has grown into a awsome young man. And once again thanks for all the imformation. Shay
Thank you Paul. Just trying to juggle too many balls at one time. My daughter is moving to CA in three weeks so trying to deal with that too. Both kids flying the coup at the same time...All will be good I just need to get a few things off my plate. Thank you for the encouragement.
Thank you so much for the welcome. I am VERY new to this. My son has only been gone 6 days and I am at quite a loss. This website and Navy for Moms have both been a God send. Thank you
Thanks for the add.....looking forward to reading and learning more and making new friends to help me get through this with a better understanding of the Navy.
Hello Paul. Thanks for the welcome message. I've only had a little time to explore the site but I have already found helpful information. I look forward to exploring further.
This may appear repetitive, since I've said nearly the same thing to admins, Gary, Tim and Jim... but Sorry for the delay in response. I'm very grateful for the effort and extremely valuable information contained in this site. I keep coming back for the content even though I'm not very responsive in the social mechanisms just yet. Thank you for the note about safety and security and I'm glad you mention that to new people. In my line of work OPSEC is an expectation which is drilled and tested often, which I will apply here as well. I also appreciate your family's service! Thank you for the warm welcome!
