Thanks for the information. I probably would be so mad if someone would have given us a realistic expectation and followed through with it. But to say the info would be available at a certain time and then not providing it just drives me crazy.

Glad you were able to elevate your son's case to the Sentator's office; they do have leverage and it is their job to work for us. I know first hand that military docs are not all knowing. After reading your notes, your son could have eaten somthing or even exposed to something that caused an reaction, If he was in the Nuke program the main cause could be stress. Nevertheless there is a ryhme and reason for it all. Hang in there and it will all work out for the best.

Call your Fed senators and reps and find a good physican. Ask for your son to be allowed to move to different rate (career field/job). The issue is the system has so many kids that want in so they have a pick and choose. If you push the issue you can make changes but if you do not you will not win (loose).

Robert...The waiting begins.....Man the very best to your family and to Todd. It seems like yesterday my son David was on his way from Seattle to Chicago....And about midnight or so we got the 1 minute call....Dave on ship 13 div 358 and if battle stations go well PIR next Friday. I am proud of your son and I am sure you are proud of him joining the finest Navy in the world! Congrats to him getting in the Nuke program also. Please tell mom to start writing and send photo's. Your next call after tonight might not come for 4 to 6 weeks depending much on how his division does. My family can not wait until next week for our sons graduation. And Robert this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in and let us know how Todd is doing! As a parent of a sailor currently or soon to be at Great Lakes you'll have many questions about what your son is going through. These videos will answer many of your questions and concerns and will give you a better understanding of how the United States Navy transforms our children into sailors! I would suggest you take a few mintues to read through this post as it will do a lot to give you some understanding about what your sailor is learning and why.

Be sure to spend some time in the Bootcamp group- there are many questions and answers available to help you understand what your sailor is going through.
