for some reason this version seems to resonate with the understanding that it is the sailors that really make the Navy what it is....

Yeah, my Tiger Cruise was pretty much that same sort of eye-opening experience for me....you can read about my experience and feelings with the series of blogs I wrote beginning with  http://www.navydads.com/profiles/blogs/quick-tiger-blog

No kidding.  Until one experiences Navy life, even on a Tiger Cruise, for a just a few days, most of us don't know how professional and well-trained our Sailors are in their jobs.  The video I really like is "100% on Watch".

Having recently learned about life on an aircraft carrier, I am more aware of the meaning of The Sailor's Creed.

I'm proud my son serves in The United States Navy.

Just happened to see this video in a commercial on TV Friday night.  Now you've done it to me again.

At the 18 Jan 2013 graduation, the reciting of the Sailor's Creed gave me goosebumps and got the tears flowing....  here's the sound file:  https://soundcloud.com/shhtaymus/sounds-from-friday-morning-4
