Well, the time has come. Last weekend before my son ships out. He heads to BC on 9, September, 2014. Very proud of him, but also sad since my best friend for the last 18 years is leaving me. But he's wanted this almost his entire life and I know he'll be a very successful member of the U.S. Navy!
Any others with children heading to BC next week, correspond over the next few months and we'll work through this together! Already planning my trip to GL to see the graduation! Can't wait!

Cold shouldn't be 'too bad' (I'm saying that very loosely) when we get there for graduation. We lived in Wisconsin 3 1/2 years (2007-2010), and while it does get cold by November, the brutal cold doesn't usually start until about December or so, then tends to last all the way until at least early April for the most part. Since my son will be at GL for 'A' School through the winter, now looking back, I'm glad he experienced those three winters in Wisconsin - at least he's got a good idea of what to expect. White ground for better part of 4 months or so!
Hello, proud parents! I am glad I found this site and this forum. My son got to GL on the 9th that night. Today we received his box of clothes and we were sad but happy with joy. His first week almost in the bag. We are from Ga and praying for each one of our men and women who are at boot camp for a successful eight weeks and beyond. we are now waiting on the letter and info to write along with his graduation date. Again, I am glad to meet you all and let us stay blessed.
Haven't received our son's box yet, and mom is about to have a fit. LOL She's been reading on the Navy Moms site about everyone getting their child's box and she is VERY anxious to receive our son's! Hopefully we'll see it on Monday.
Good to meet you too. Hopefully some us will get to meet each other at graduation!
no box and personally I'm not worried as it will come. I look more forward to the future letters but want her focused on BC and not home.
The Fed ex guy told me it wasn't suppose to be delivered until Monday and on the box it had a date for monday. So know Monday should be the day you all get the box.
As of today we received his address and graduation date which is oct. 31! He is on ship 13 div 352. Hope you all got some information today also. Hopefully some of our kids are on the same ship and in the same division. Be bless
Confirming your child started 09/09/14? That graduation date would be earlier then we expected. Our daughter arrived at GL 09/09
Yes he arrived on 9/9! That will be exactly 8 weeks be they started count the 8th once he left for meps from what I am figuring! His info said Oct 31. We didn't received a hand written letter from him but a fill in the blanks kind of letter. It contain a lot of information in it.
Tony,
Did you receive letter with the 'box', or separate? My wife just informed me that our son's 'box' arrived today, but only with clothes - no info in it.
wife said our daughters box just arrived.. I'm guessing the letter is via the US postal service.
