My grandson recently joined the FORD as an ABH. If there are any other Badger sailors on the FORD, let's hear from you. The Commissioning will be a great event, and it would be great to have a…Continue

I got to participate (as a dad) in the Stennis 2019 Tiger Cruise. Living onboard a working warship, eating the food, traversing the passages and decks, the air power demonstration and other tours, were all phenomenal. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Yes you are correct the Stennis will be dry docked! My son is actually looking forward to spending his possible last year on shore duty! “Maybe”
It will be the Stennis’s midlife refueling!
Replying to Joel Steffen:
There are a lot smaller towns than Chippawa Falls, at least you have a famous brewery, I've always kind of liked Leinies. Anyway my son, an EMN on the GW CVN73, did a “ride along” on the Stennis last August for about 3 weeks. And when we visited Norfolk a month ago it was “Fleet Week” and the Stennis was open for visiting, so we got to take a tour of the hanger and flight decks. Very interesting! I understand the Stennis will be going in for RCOH soon, so for as long as your son is assigned to the Stennis there won't be much more sea time, just dry dock. I know cause that is what the GW has been doing for the last 3 years, just sitting on cement blocks in Newport News.
Our son Brandon is on the JOHN c. Stennis. He has been in the Navy as an MA for the past 3 years! Now is stationed out of Norfolk, Virginia!
My wife and I are from the little town of Chippewa Falls! Hopefully there are more Wisconsinites on the Stennis!
Mike W. Good to see another Wisconsin sailor / dad. But I gotta tell you the Military Intelligence is a contradiction in terms, or at least it was back in the dark ages when I was in the army.
Proud Wisconsin Dad here. My son just finished PIR today and he is flying out tonight for Virginia Beach for A school. He will be learning to be an Intelligence Specialist and is excited to be done with Boot Camp. It was great to see him today for his short liberty and now he is off again for 13 weeks. So happy for him to be making a career for himself and meeting so many quality people along the way.
Hello WI Navy Dads, I've been rather inactive on the Navy Dads site. My son is currently home (Genesee) on a 2 week leave from A School in Pensacola, heading to North Island San Diego. Its been great to have him around and will be tough to see him go again. But now I'll get to learn a few things about helicopters. :-)
Hey Andy, I stated this group a few years ago but there wasn't much activity for a long time. I was surprised to see that we had this many members. I thought I would let you know I'm still here. I suggest we move the annual meeting to a new location this year, the past few have been at my house and I'm the only one that shows up ;-)
Mmmmm . . . This Wisconsin Dads group looks rather inactive, so since I just joined, I thought I would "say hi", and see if anyone else is out there in the ether of the internet and within this group.
I'm from De Pere, and my son is in EMN A school at NNPTC, Goose Creek.
