We couldn't care less what you do or say in your private life. You only need to answer to your conscience for those actions. However, when it comes to this site and what is posted here, we will censor inappropriate posts and control what is shared in open forums on this site.

Please review the words I posted to you on Sept 15, 2016--

Please remember that we talk about the Navy here and we must keep the security and safety of our sailors and the fleet in mind. On the right or starboard side of every NavyDads page is an area we call Key Information. Please take a minute and read through the Operations Security (OPSEC) link for some guidelines as to what we should not talk about in a public forum like NavyDads.com.

EVERY member is advised to read thru our OPSEC link....we take the security of our sailors and the fleet seriously and we expect our members to do so as well.

Well Jack, the link to the guidelines for OPSEC has been down on the right side of the main page since 2009. But here it is just for you ol' buddy:

You mentioned that some of the things here are absurd...seriously? We have been nothing but open and as honest with you as much as we could. We do not sugar coat our answers. We are here for information and to help guide mom and dad through their son's or daughter's experience.

I am deeply offended that you thought we are being "absurd." If you think you have to chase your son's ship all around the Pacific, have at it. Only he and he alone will be able to tell you where and when. ...and even then, he better not be putting that information out on the internet for all to see.

I think you should know at this point that I have started a file for you with all of these comments. We are not in the business of just kicking folks out for no reason.

Try joining some of the other sites out there and see how far you get by telling them the answers they give are absurd. Navy For Moms would not tolerate you for a New York minute.

Good day sir.

Jim

We direct all new members to check our OPSEC guidelines when they join....you should know we do not talk about port calls until they are over

Jack, Margaret saw our chat from last night and this is what she said:

"I doubt they would recall a new sailor off leave. It can happen, but they'd really need to need him. If the billet was that hot, they'd have him report and spend his time waiting for his clearance at his new command, doing busy work or cranking.

As for the airfare, he lets the travel office know he wants to fly home en route. They arrange the flights, then charge him for he leg home. Since the Navy gets bulk travel discounts, it is generally cheaper and easier to just notify the travel office of leave plans.

If he is going home while on a hold, then he buys a round trip ticket to and from the school command out of his own pocket."

Yes- your son in the US Navy and they will define where he can and cannot go regardless of what you want or think.
