The prayer ceremony followed a joint U.S. Navy/National Park Service ceremony commemorating the 67th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The theme of this year's historic commemoration, "Pacific War Memories: The Heroic Response to Pearl Harbor," emphasizes the brave efforts of those who fought at sea, on land, and in the air, to turn the tide in the Pacific. More than 2,000 distinguished guests and the general public joined service members, Pearl Harbor survivors and their families and friends for the annual observance. Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone know that Kelly just made 3rd Class Petty Officer. She will receive her new ranking this Thursday in a special ceremony. Congratulations Kelly from Dad and Mom. In Chandler AZ.

My daughter is in week two at Great Lakes. We hail from the Casa Grande area and it's nice to have a page dedicated to our Arizona sailors.

If you're going to PIR you better get some now as Great Lakes can be COLD. During my son's stay at RTC temps were as low as -17...and it is not a dry cold either....with the lake winds it can be bitter cold....it was in single diigits when I was there in March '07....I'm from cold country (my personal record is -39 in 1990) and I about froze.......

Wow it is nice to see so many Arizona sailors. My son is in week seven at Boot Camp and will be in BATTLE STATION this week. He is a Hospital Corpsman and will do his A-school in Great Lakes. We are looking for any info on HM A-school classes to help our son Anitoli get a head start. We are also looking forward to graduation on Jan 15, although my wife and I don't have any winter clothes. Happy New Years to all and I hope all your sailors have the best year ever.

Hi Everyone,

The McGlew Family wishes everyone a merry Christmas and very bright New Year in 2010. Kelly just returned home this afternoon from the Lemoore Naval Air Station in CA. for a one week holiday here in Chandler. We are so grateful to have this time with her.

She is still number one in all the weapons training classes for the F/A 18 Hornet since arriving at the air station and has just completed her paper work for Officer Training. She will be submitting her paper work when she returns to Lemoore in a few weeks. I will post new pictures of her from her time at home the first week in January.

Merry Christmas to all and may God keep all our military personnel and their families in the palms of his most generous hands. God bless and happy new year...Tom, Peggy, and Kelly

Merry Christmas to all of you and your sailors!! My son was just home, but had to leave yesterday, so we celebrated alittle early this year. I'm so grateful for the time we had together.

Hi everyone , it has been since November 09, 2009 since my last comment. Well our Arizona sailor is home, he has been home for two weeks after completing his first duty assignment, 16 months at GITMO. Well he has reported to the naval/marine rerserve center off of I-10 and 35th Ave. During the last two weeks he has been reporting to the center and they had offered him 7 months active duty at the reserve center but had to attend a new A school at Luke AFB which was started on December 18, 2009. Yes he gets to miss Christmas with the family again this year but should be completed by January 2010 just in time for his 23rd birthday. He is so far scheduled for overseas in May 2010. Merry Christmas
